Troodos Mountains

The Troodos Mountains provide an alternative to the tourist thronged resorts around much of Cyprus.  Here you will see Cyprus as it was before people began flocking to their beaches, as a quiet, delightful island.

The most remarkable thing about the Troodos Mountains is its ski slopes.  Despite the extremely mild winters and rising temperatures of spring, you can hit snowy slopes between January and March under the clear Mediterranean skies.  When you’ve had your fill of winter, hop in the car for an hour and you can arrive at the beaches of Paphos, Limassol or Nicosia for some reasonably warm sunshine!

During the hotter months, Troodos provides a cool escape from the sweltering heat on the coasts.  It is an ideal spot for mountain walking or hiking, or even just taking in the scenery while you cool off. 

Have a roam around the sleepy villages and discover world heritage sites or simply admire the hidden waterfalls, delicate local flora and fauna, and unique wildlife.
