1. Turtle Watching
Turtle watching is a popular activity on Cyprus shores from June to September. Head down to the beach with an organised tour and see the turtles nest and lay their eggs, or watch them hatch in the later months.
2. Skiing
You may not think it, but Cyprus actually has an excellent ski resort in the Troodos Mountains. Enjoy snowy slopes from January to March every year, and head to sunny beaches just an hour away for your après-ski. For the rest of the year, this is the place to go for cooling mountain walks or hikes.
3. Golf
Cyprus is a great golf destination for amateurs and professionals alike. You can find some excellent courses not to far from Pafos for a relaxing way to pass a sunny afternoon.
4. Diving
Dive off the stunning coastline of Cyprus and you will find elegant underwater reefs, exotic fish or if you’re really adventurous, underwater caves and tunnels. Snorkeling is a great alternative if you don’t want to venture too deep and both are available throughout the island.
5. Bungee Jumping
Bungee jumping is available in Ayia Napa for those looking for a truly exhilarating experience on their holiday.
6. Horse Riding
Cyprus has breath-taking scenery and beautiful beaches, what better way to admire them than from atop a horse? Horse-riding is extremely popular in Cyprus and there are a number of centres that provide classes and nature treks.
7. Visit a Vineyard
Cyprus is famous for its vineyards. Do a tour of one of many and sample the local produce while you’re at it.
8. Fishing
Colourful little harbours and international ports are a prevailing feature of the island and there is plenty of opportunity for fishing in the various resorts.
9. Water Sports & Water Parks
Every water sport imaginable is available in Cyprus’ clear, warm waters. Jet-skiing, parasailing, windsurfing and anything else you can think of are all on offer. Otherwise there are a couple of water parks on the island, the main one being in Ayia Napa.
10. Sight-See
Historical sites and noteworthy museums abound in Cyprus as the island has a fascinating and tumultuous history. You will find ruins in relics in nearly every resort but especially worth seeing are Kolossi Castle, Pafos Harbour and Castle and the Akamas Peninsula.
